Shops in DEATH RACE provide aid for Players all over town!
Whether looking for a secondary pin for your deck, a boost to your rolls or even a temporary tag status, this is the perfect place to find what you need to heighten your experience!

You must be wondering, 'How come I can go shopping despite being dead?' and hey, that's what we're here for!
The way it works is very simple. Because we know shopping is essential for locals and tourists alike, we came up with a system that allows you to shop while dead!

All you have to do is look for a special REAPER STICKER outside a shop. Stickered areas have been Reaper-approved, which means you can go in and go about your business as if you were alive. When you enter the shop you'll temporarily regain your corporeal form- meaning you'll be visible to anyone inside the vicinity (duh, how else would you talk to the person at the counter?).

In addition to shops, we also have a couple of general ZONES where you can hang out as a living being. What? We're not heartless! We know Old Boar is all about events and leisure, so of course we had to REAPER STICKER certain areas.
​
With that in mind, I suggest you remember the game rules. Might come in handy.

DEATH RACE features 3 main types of items you can hold in your inventory. (If you haven't, check out the CHARACTER REGISTER to get a better idea of how it works!)

APPAREL
Very much what it sounds like, these types of items cover clothes and clothing accessories. They can range from a high-end fashion line to a good ol’ honking clown nose.
Apparel items offer PERMANENT benefits/drawbacks, making them a little more expensive. In other words, they’ll last for as long as they wear them, so make sure to deck yourself out accordingly. It goes without saying, but you're only allowed to buy 1 of each apparel item.

Oh, and a word of advice? Fashion's a statement 'round these parts, so make sure you dress the part too.

CONSUMABLES
Can’t expect you to run on empty stomachs, yeah?
Shops of this nature may include anything from a little corner cafe, a full-fledged restaurant… or that weird looking potion you may or may not want to drink. They'll basically offer stuff for you to eat, drink, or generally just throw into your tummy. You're welcome!
Consumable items offer TEMPORARY benefits/drawbacks, making them a little cheaper. They’ll last for a day after being consumed, so make sure you're keeping yourself well fed every day. But hey, if you ain't got that kinda money, I particularly recommend being especially well-fed on mission days!

PINS
Now, this is a very special type of item. If you haven't already, I recommend you check out our handy PIN guide. But to rephrase,
Buyable PINs are REGULAR PINS. They come with a very specific description and power that can't be altered, and they can be used once a day.
Some are more useful than others, but it never hurts to have a bunch of different PINs in your repertoire, right?

As of right now, there's only one specialized PIN SHOP. But who knows what kind of new items you'll unlock if you frequent other shops enough, huh? Wink, wink.

On top of the 3 main types of items, there are SPECIAL types of purchases that can enhance your DEATH RACE experience. These types of goodies aren't wearable or edible, but they'll provide a sturdy boost if you know how to use them.
